Church Planting Movements
Church Planting Movements (CPMs) are driven by rapidly reproducing disciples. The momentum that this creates can sweep through previously unreached areas with the ability to create literally thousands of simple churches in a relatively short period of time. Discipling, equipping and coaching church planters is based on a system of personal discovery of God's will from His Word and a highly intentional commitment to immediate personal obedience. This approach to leadership development produces highly committed men and women with the character, capacity and skills to produce a new kind of leadership and a new level of Kingdom impact.
These types of movements are qualitatively different from traditional Christian enterprises, and thus have unique definitions:
Church - A local group of baptized believers who gather regularly for worship, nurture, and fellowship; and who depart the gathering endeavoring to obey all the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Church Planting - The process of winning individuals and families to Christ through any and all means that effectively communicate to the culture; then gathering and baptizing them into the Body of Christ for the purpose of being the church.
Church Planting Movements - Local churches within a people group rapidly and regularly planting multiple new churches as a normal part of being the church.
