Recognizing that The Hope of Africa is in the Harvest, the Horn of Africa Mission was founded in 2002 with the vision of raising up and training local workers who would ignite an explosion of continuously reproductive churches throughout the Horn of Africa and beyond. In the first six years of its ministry, Horn of Africa Mission became the catalytic force behind launching thousands of new churches in one of the most difficult regions on earth!

By faith, in 2010, the Horn of Africa church planters will push back the darkness by launching 2,400 new churches with 84,000 new believers (an average of 35 believers per church). The cost to train, send, supply and coach the number of church planters necessary to launch these 2,400 churches is $486,000. That means that on average each of these new churches will come into being for an investment of just $202 *! This is only possible because the Horn of Africa Mission does the training and equipping while hundreds of local leaders do the actual church planting and then train others to repeat the process. So the numbers grow while the costs stay low!
