Hunger is striking more than 13.3 million people [U.S. Aid Statistic] across the Horn of Africa because of the drought. 35% of the all children in the region are now facing emergency levels of malnutrition. Starvation and dehydration is a real threat to their lives. More than 30,000 children have already lost their lives.

CityTeam's Horn of Africa Crisis Team in Action:
During the next 6 months [December 2011 to May 2012] CityTeam's Horn of Africa Crisis Team will help children and families in some of the most remote and devastated areas.
The Compassion Initiative during the next 6 months to deliver these life-saving resources is estimated at $365,760. The price of food and water has doubled in the last month. Our team has traveled up to 1,000 miles away to purchase supplies.

- First, life-saving resources will be provided to 4,000 people.
- Second, the momentum of our church planting will be preserved. When people do not have to wander looking for food & water, the communities will be stabilized and our work can continue.
- Third, those who do not know Jesus will see that the Good News is something that you can feel as well as hear. This will open up wonderful new opportunities.
- Fourth, there will be a clear contrast between the warm love of God and the cold heart of Islam that turns away from hurting people.
- Fifth, new Believers will learn that God hears prayers, that faith is rewarded and that He provides for his children.
