Southern Africa Church Planting Trainer
A nurse by profession with a special interest in community health and community development, Val has been involved in ministry along with her husband Charles with the people of South Africa for over 37 years. After completing church planting training, in April of 2006 Val joined the international division of CityTeam now called NewGenerations as a church planting trainer in South Africa. Today Val serves in the rural areas of Philippi, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa building relationships, establishing communities of faith, training local leaders and transforming communities through Christ.

Discovery Bible Studies
Candlelight Bible studies are held in the homes of farm residents and lead by community members and leaders to introduce basic Biblical principles and share the saving love of Jesus Christ.
Church Planting Training
Conducting training sessions to introduce the concepts of the church planting movement and offer follow-up training for those interested in implementing the principles, embodying the, "each one teach one" philosophy.
Feeding Programs
The simple meals we provide to community children is the highlight of their day. We want to meet these basic, tangible needs of the communities in which we are working to open the doors for church planting.
Electricity and Sanitation Services
God had blessed our efforts to provide electricity to some of laborer communities in South Africa that have been living with out electricity for 60 years. It is our goal to bring running water, basic sanitation and refuse removal to restore dignity, heath and safety to these poor communities for the first time in generations.
Mobile Pre-school Play Groups
Children who live in the townships use soiled sand as a playground and often never learn how to interact and play positively with other children. Children's playgroups have been established to provide these disadvantaged children with basic play equipment as well as a safe and nurturing environment.
